Senior Thesis Project

The largest project that I have been the primary contributor to thus far has been my senior thesis project. In this, my team took on a project with an industry sponsor, Humboldt Specialty Manufacturing, with their Kool-Shield product. The overall product that Humboldt sells can be found at https://www.kool-shield.com/. In this project, we were asked to design a controller that can be a direct replacement for their current controller all while incorporating new features. The goal was that in the end, they would be no longer reliable on a third party product and have a superior solution. We developed many requirements and learned a great deal about product development processes throughout the duration. Due to the nature of this project, I am not able to show much of the design process. My titled role in this project was “Systems Engineer” but, other than delivered code, a prototype enclosure, and sections of the 100+ page documentation, I was the one responsible for every other aspect. This includes general design, pcb design, component selection and integration, hardware assembly, testing, debugging, revisioning and more.  The last prototype that we delivered can be seen below!
